Architect Bala North Wales | Rhys Llwyd Davies

Rhys Llwyd Davies was the architect for the renovation of Liverpool House in Dolgellau.  A former Threshers wine shop, this grade II listed building is Georgian in appearance, but parts of the building are likely to date from the 17th century. The building is now the home of 'Gwin Dylanwad Wine' (http://www.dylanwad.co.uk/), a local independant wine merchant who also runs wine tasting sessions and a wine bar.  The works involved the restoration of an 19th century shop front, erecting a glazed extension to replace a 1970's lean to structure that obscures views of the original building fabric, and a careful re-organisation of the internal layout to reveal previously hidden features and meet current building regulations requirements.  The Building was opened in November 2014.
